FDA Issues Warning to Brazilian Blowout Hair Care Company
The FDA has issued a warning to Brazilian Blowout Hair Care Company because high levels of formaldehyde were found in their hair straightening products. The company was asked to reduce the formaldehyde content or it may be asked to remove their item from the marketplace.
In a news release FDA said that Brazilian Blowout products contained misleading labels and were adulterated. They further added that most advertisements of the company that claimed that their products were formaldehyde-free were false. The company has been time till 12th September to comply with the directive of FDA. When FDA analyzed the products of Brazilian Blowout, it found that it come 8.7 to 10.4 percent of liquid form of formaldehyde in their products.
However, in an interview to a popular website the CEO of the company Mike Brady said that company’s product a different from of formaldehyde which is safe. He further added that the company’s products meet the OSHA standards and are extremely popular. Mike also said that the company products are SAFE.
However, FDA disagrees with the Mike because they say that formaldehyde which is found in must Brazilian Blowout products is extremely dangerous. FDA has further added that many consumers and salon workers who have used Brazilian Blowout products have complained of problems like nervous system disorder, chest pain and rashes.
Many health experts, women organisation and hair stylish are happy with the move of FDA. They believe that people must be aware of the dangers of using Brazilian Blowout products. Since many countries like France, Germany, Ireland, Australia and Canada have already banned Brazilian Blowout products, it is important that people of America also know the truth about their products. Earlier this year a report released by National Academy of Science claimed the use of formaldehyde can increase the risk of cancer in humans.
After the FDA warning, the website of Brazilian Blowout says that the company is working with FDA to clear up the misinformation about the company’s products. The website also claims that all products of the company comply with the guidelines that are set by State and Federal Government.
